A Dragon Takes its First Victory

We did it!
I couldn't be more proud. My neighbor is "cord-cutting" PG&E today. They are signing up with our PPA and paying $0 to have 7.7kW of panels, batteries, and a backup system in their home. The best part? By year 15 they will save AT LEAST $68,000 dollars by exiting PG&E death loop. Even better than the best part? They're signing up for 25 years and get to KEEP the panels for free electricity after.
...FTDW (For The Double Win)
I was amazed when my training mentor presented my neighbor with the plan. My first reaction was honestly how low the rate was. The size of the system and additional feature of battery backup (for grid-tie induced outages) would be a 50-70K outlay of upfront cash. We all know the price of financing today. Gone are the days of 2% interest rates. My neighbor gets PANELS, BATTERIES, ELECTRICAL UPGRADES, BACKUP SYSTEM, PERMITTING, INSTALLATION... $0.
Warning... this is NOT a simulation. This is an actual case study.
Look at the TIME PROVEN SAVINGS that are going to happen:

PGE has raised their rates 11.44% average over the last 10+ years. This is BEFORE the electrification requirements of the state before the ban on combustion vehicles. Demand WILL rise. What's going to happen to rates with the increase on the grid?
Even at a CONSERVATIVE 10% assumed rate increase over the next 15 years... Look at what my neighbor is saving year-after-year.
